EVENT DETAILS
Each year at United Way of Santa Barbara County’s Day of Caring, over 1,200 volunteers from our community donate something very precious - their time.
United Way of Santa Barbara County will host the 19th Annual Day of Caring on Saturday, September 25, 2010. Day of Caring has become a tradition with local charitable organizations like Girls Inc., Friendship Senior Day Care Center, Isla Vista Youth Projects, Goleta Valley Beautiful, and Santa Barbara Neighborhood Clinics. Teams of volunteers from schools, workplaces and churches gather to complete these much-needed tasks. Projects include: painting indoors and outdoors, planting gardens and trees, sorting and organizing contributed goods, general repairs, beach cleanup, office work and more!
Over fifty local agencies, schools and parks will receive more than $250,000 worth of labor at United Way's 19th Annual Day of Caring. One hundred teams from workplaces, families, faith groups, and schools, as well as many individual volunteers will fill Page Youth Center at the high-energy Kick-Off Rally and Breakfast, prior to dispersing to their assigned worksites.
Please join us by giving back to the agencies that do so much for our community. For more information, call 965-8594 or visit www.unitedwaysb.org/dayofcaring.
